“But Harold told me that I can call a hinder
on my stomach.” Rocky the Fireman
“We would make better calls if we could
actually see over our opponents” The North & The South Tower
Over the last twenty years there have been many questionable calls on the racquetball courts. Many glorious hinders, foot faults, screens and blocks, short serves, court hinders, and even wet ball calls conjured up so many names and faces before settling on the Harold Hunter. As on the court, the competition for the naming of the ”Coveted” was intense. Strong consideration was given to Shawn, Tommy, Commish, Left Handed Tim, Rocky the Fireman and the Cop, and even Downtown and Barry. But in the end there was a final and clear consensus that Harold and Don should share this prestigious award. When all was said and done, the deciding factor that set Harold Jagoda and Don Hunter above all other "pretenders" was their mutual ability to argue their calls to the bitter end, in spite of all others opinions, either on or off the court. This unique combination of making bad calls in combination with the passion to stand behind them solidified the perpetual trophy in their names. There can be no weekly winner of the coveted Harold Hunter trophy without your participation. Please nominate the person you believe best exemplifies the spirit of this august trophy. Remember, there is no such thing as a bad call, only a misinterpretation of the proper viewpoint or perspective. Nominations should be submitted to either Shawn Rajabi or Dave Galletly by each Sunday at 11am for the previous week. A new winner will be selected and his or her name will be added to the 'Coveted'. In case of a tie “Scabby” Joe Dana will select the winner. Long live the recipients of the "coveted" Harold Hunter Trophy!
